In this six-week introductory course, we will be learning to play the Clave, Conga drums, and Cowbell instruments, which play a special role as they are the instruments most easily heard by Salsa dancers.
If you’ve ever felt totally lost listening to the crazy complicated rhythms of Salsa music, either on the couch or on the dance floor, you’re not alone. Understanding how to dance to the music and rhythm is probably one of the most difficult points that students encounter when learning to dance Salsa.
Upon completion of this course you will have a basic understanding of–
-Basic Conga technique
-Common cowbell patterns and their variations
-The Son Clave in its role as the ‘rhythm organizer’.
