Projecting disinterest might have worked for Clark Gable, but you won't win any Oscars for it on the dance floor.
If you wanted to make a blog story short, I’d say, you.
But ‘you’ gets a bit complex. It could be you that day, that week, or just you in a crappy moment. Nonetheless, when you get on that dance floor, you are projecting something to yourself, your partner, and those around you.
What are you projecting?
What would you like to project?
How could you eliminate the gap between the two?
Your body movements, facial expressions, and the manner in which you hold yourself and your partner, are all saying something. Go inside and find out what that something is.
If you don’t like it, change it. Are you projecting disinterest? Sexuality? Confidence? Creepiness? Maybe even self-consciousness?
Just know that what you feel tends to be what you project, like it or not. And what you project, will create both the physical characteristics of your dance as well as the imprint left on others around you.
I am curious to see what some of you would like to project versus what you feel you actually do. Feel free to chime in with your thoughts.
